For Father's Day this year, we stuck to tradition and treated dad to a stay cation. Our weekend started with dinner at Charlstons (all 22 of us). After dinner, we headed over to the Arizona Grand and checked in. Then it was off to the pool for swimming and a movie. The movie ended up getting canceled due to wind but the kids didn't care. They were happy in the pool. After the pool closed, we headed to our room and watched a movie before finally falling asleep.
Saturday morning we were up early for breakfast. The pool didn't open until 9:30 but we wanted some shade so we sent Jim to wait in line starting at 8:30. We had a rough start at the pool once we got in, but it all turned out ok and everyone was happy. My biggest complaint with the AZ Grand is that to be able to go on even the smallest, slowest of the slides, you have to be 48 inches tall. I have small kids which means Ledger and Berkley couldn't go on them. They cried and cried and cried. I felt bad but the lifeguards wouldn't budge. Once each of them realized there were other things to do besides the slides, they cheered up.
The AZ Grand is also VERY crowded on Father's Day weekend. With that being said, Jim still found some pool space to throw the kids around!
Although it was Father's Day weekend, the Mom's got to relax for a minute too!

These two kids are the best of friends. Case was throwing Berkley in the water and although she wasn't going very high, she was having a blast!

Poor Ledger was so upset that he couldn't go on the slides. He cried and screamed and threw a big fit. Luckily he was able to get himself together and ended up having a good time.

We had a great Father's Day at the AZ Grand. Can't wait to see where we decide to go next year!
