Let The Games Begin!

After way too many weeks of practice, the boys all started baseball games this week.  Brody has about 3 games a week while Case and Ledger each have about 2 a week.  It is going to be a crazy but fun baseball season! This is Ledger's first year playing T-Ball.  He has the cutest little team and two amazing coaches :).  Go River Dogs!  Go Rattlers!  Go Raptors!

Dang Cute!

Before the bus arrived this morning, I yanked Case's front tooth out.  With tears in his eyes he said, "Those were my two favorite teeth." We all laughed and then decided that this kid looks so cute with all his teeth gone.  Can't wait to see what the tooth fairy brings.

District Pinewood Derby

 On Saturday, after opening ceremonies and baseball pictures, Jeremy and I took the family to the District Pinewood Derby at Brent Berge Toyota. We thought it would be a fun experience for Brody to see how his car raced against others from around Mesa.  It was a lot more strict then our Ward Pinewood Derby, but it was good.  Brody's car raced 4 times and took second each time.  We don't know how he placed against the 27 other kids who participated, but we do know it wasn't in the top 4. The good news is, he had a good time and got some great ideas for next year's Ward Pinewood Derby.

Jackson participated also which was fun for Brody.  These two boys are too cute!

Over

I hate that spring break is over.  I have really enjoyed having my kiddos home with me. 

I love that I get to have them all to myself, no friends to compete with. Here were some of the highlights:

Doing puzzles at the cabin.

Searching for the pot of gold.

Diamondbacks vs. Cubs on a beautiful spring day.

El Charro before the baseball game.

Holding hands with Case through the mall.

Getting all 4 kids new shoes and then having lunch at Z Tejas.

14 year anniversary dinner at Michael Dominicks.

Watching the boys rollerblade in the house because there are no 

cracks on the tile like there are on the sidewalk.

Skateland (talk about bringing back memories)

On Saturday we went to Skateland for Katy's 7th birthday.  Talk about bringing back memories.  It was the dang funniest thing you've ever seen.  My kids were in heaven!  They must have skated around the ring 100 times.  They wore glow sticks around their necks and had a ball.  I think I laughed the entire time I was there, not much has changed! Case was a hoot at Skateland.  The kid danced and skated the whole time.  Hilarious!

Yep...even 2 year old's can skate.  This little lady couldn't get enough of Skateland.

I think Brody may have found his new sport.  For 2 days rollerblading was all he wanted to do.

Ledger skated around the ring like he has been doing it all his life.  

So one thing that has changed at Skateland are these "Skate Mate's" that you can use to help you skate.  They are so awesome!  Miss B. didn't really need one to help her but looooved pushing it around the ring.

Diamond Cubs

On Thursday I took the kids to a Cubs Spring Training Game at Mesa HoHo Kam Stadium.  Being that Jeremy parks cars there during the month of March, we are able to get really good seats.  The bummer of the whole day was that the Cubs were playing the Diamondbacks and since we like both teams, we didn't know who to cheer for.  Brody decided to cheer for the Diamond Cubs (Diamond Backs and Cubs.)

Within 10 minutes of being at the game, we spilled 1 huuuuuge pink lemonade, 1 huuuuuge box of Cracker Jax and 1 huuuuuge rainbow snow cone.  You should have seen the ground, you couldn't even put your feet down.  It was like seeing $16.50 laying on the ground and not being able to pick it up and put it back in my purse!

The best part of baseball games is the food.  Although we ate at El Charro before we got there, we had plenty of room for snacks.
Cousin Aiden sat behind us which was fun for Brody.

Love that Papa got to hang out with us too.  He works the games with Jeremy. We lasted until the 7th inning and then Miss B. told us she wanted to go home.  So we did! 

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

 We celebrated St. Patrick's Day while at the cabin.  We went on a fun scavenger hunt to find the Pot go Gold. My little Leprechauns had a ball event though they didn't get green pancakes and eggs for breakfast.  

 This little leprechaun was in heaven celebrating a holiday where you have to wear green.  It is his favorite color you know!

  After the scavenger hunt the kids played a game of St. Patrick's Day Bingo.  How did you celebrate the green holiday?

Spring Break

We headed up to the cabin this year for a few days of spring break fun. I always love coming up here and relaxing.  There is no bed making up here, no following the kids around picking up after them, and no running from one baseball practice to the next.  There are no piano lessons, music class, preschool, play school, scouts or church meetings.  I especially love that there are lots of Mom's here to help with making dinner, cleaning up dinner, feeding kids, bathing kids, changing kids, and wiping noses.

 We have a little inside joke up here at the cabin that Poligamy is really not such a bad thing.  Although we totally don't want anything to do with sharing the husbands, we like that there are plenty of women to help with the daily duties (as do our husbands). When we were up here at Christmas I was making trip after trip to the cute scrapbook store to buy supplies for the Primary teacher binders.  I was getting layers of paper, ribbon and buttons.  These primary folder covers were going to be a huge job but something I was excited to do.  By my third trip, the darling girl who owns the shop said to me, "This is going to be a huge project, I hope you have someone to help you."  Without thinking I responded, "Oh I have my Sister Wives here with me and they are going to help." She looked at me and said (with hesitation), "Ohhh, you're one of those?" I turned red as a beet  and started fumbling over my words.  I quickly explained that we call ourselves, "The Sister Wives" because at any given time there are 6 to 8 women at the cabin willing to help with anything. We laughed and I quickly ran out the door in embarrassment.

 The truth is, one of the reasons I love it up here is because my kids are completely entertained and I have help with the daily duties.  There is no make-up and the hair is ALWAYS in a ponytail or something like it.  The weather is perfect in the summer and snuggly in the winter. There are no rules about how long the WII can be on or how long the 3DS's can be played.  It is just fun and games at the cabin. My kids are making great memories up here and I am so happy we have a place to escape! 

 My grandparents were up here this year and my kids were loving it!  Brody taught GG how to play chess, Ledger read to G-Pa and Case learned to play scrabble on the IPad with Sugar.

Character Matters

 Last night we attended Case's first grade musical titled, "Character Matters."

Case had the opening line of the narrator.  He basically told what was to come in the play.  He memorized his whole part and did great at reciting it.

 I thought he looked super cute in his King costume.  

He is loving that we are all calling him, "King Case."

 This is the, "Fairy Tale Council."  

Case's teacher is Mrs. Hunt, aka, "The Not So Wicked Witch."  

 We were all there to see our cute little king.

 GPa came with us tonight since GG is in Malibu with Sugar and her sisters. Case was so happy to have him eat dinner with us and then come to his play.

Of course everyone was happy with a trip to Golden Spoon after.

Case, we are so proud of you and the great job you did tonight.  You continue to surprise and amaze us with your funny and smart self. We loved watching you sing and dance up there on the stage tonight. You  make us smile King Caser!

Basketball Season

 Our winter 2012 basketball season is officially over.  It has been a year of learning, growing and making new friends.  

 A huge thank you to Coach Hall (not pictured) and Coach Kurtz for coaching Brody's team this year.  This is a nice group of kids.  Brody loved practicing and playing with them each week.

 Case  looooved this season with Coach Morin.  He learned a ton and enjoyed the games so much.  After yesterday's game, we headed over to the Morin's house for a BBQ with the team.  While there, Coach handed out trophies and said a little something about each of the players.  When it was Case's turn, Coach Morin said, "Case was by far my most favorite kid on the team to watch each week." Oh you should have seen the look on Case's face.  That's all he talked about the rest of the day.  I have to agree, Case was a fun kid to watch on the court (see pictures below)

 Case literally chucks the ball into the hoop when he gets a shot.  Rarely does he make it, but boy does this kid make some great defense plays that really help the team.

 Coach Morin was right...Case is a fun player to watch on the court.  At yesterday's game, my mom and I could not stop laughing.  Case does this CRAZY head bob thing when he's guarding or being guarded.  It is the dang funniest thing you've ever seen.  Picture a seizure mixed with dance moves. Trust me when I say that his opponent must think he has some mental disabilities when he's on the court. HILARIOUS!!

We could not contain ourselves yesterday.  By time it was over, I had makeup all over my face cause I couldn't stop crying in laughter. Wish you could have all been there to experience the fun!

Crazy Sock Day

 Today the school had crazy sock day.  My boys were actually super excited for this day. We pulled out Miss B.'s leg warmers and some funny socks I had, and off they went...happy as could be!

Looks like most the kids from the bus stop got the message that today was crazy sock day!

Super Star!

This week Ledger has been the Super Star of his Preschool class.  This is always a fun week in our family, especially when we all get to visit the school to talk about how special our little guy is to us. We love, love, love Miss Jody his teacher.  She is truly the best and always makes the preschool kids feel like they are the most special person on earth.

The highlight of the day for Ledger was when he got to use the green pointer and tap each of his friends on the head so they could introduce themselves to us.

 He brought, "Froggy Plays T-Ball" to read to the class.  He chose Brody to read it which was fun.

The only people he wanted to share his Super Star day with were, Sugar, GG and G-Pa.  Lucky for him, GG and G-Pa stopped by to say "Hi."

Look at the happiness on this little Super Star's face.  We love this kid so much and think he is a Super Star every day of the week.  For a little treat, Ledger gave each of his preschool friends a container of Pringles (his favorite food) and a sucker (his favorite candy).  Then it was off to El Charro for lunch.  What a fun day!
