White Mountain Tennis Clinic

It's been a busy week here at White Mountain Country Club!  Not only have the kids been playing golf, but they have been participating in the junior tennis clinic.  This year, Ledger and Berkley were in a group while Case and Brody were in another.
Ledger has just clicked with all his sports this summer.  It has been so fun watching him grow and excel in his activities.  He is a great little tennis player!

Berkley is just happy no matter where she is at.  I love watching her participate in her activities.  She is getting so good at hitting the ball. She mostly likes picking up the balls this year!
It's all about that concentration....and tongue!
On the last day of the clinic, the kids get to hit water balloons.  This is really the highlight of the week. Nice shot Case!
Go Ledger!  Way to whack it!
Berkley getting some help from coach Carol.
Brody thought it was fun to hold the racquet above his head and let the water balloon crash down on him.  He was drenched!  It was a great week of tennis at White Mountain Country Club.  Thank you to Sugar for keeping her membership so we can enjoy these activities during the summer.  There is no place we would rather spend the month of July!

White Mountain Golf Tournament 2015

This morning we woke up early and headed to the White Mountain junior golf tournament.  These kids have worked hard all week and they were ready to finally play some holes.
This year, Berkley chose to play 3 holes.  She was super excited to play today, especially since Presley and Ava were in her group.
Jeremy and I decided that we would both start with Berkley today.  Since she was only playing 3 holes, we figured we could watch her and then head over to the boys.
This little lady is quite the athlete.  She is a good listener and will really work on improving her game.
I love watching Miss B. hit the ball.  She has great form and can really hit it! Her tongue sticking out is pretty cute too.
Not only can this girl whack the ball, but she can putt well too.
Words cannot begin to describe how much I love this little lady.  She always has a great attitude.  She is just fun to be around.  I am so proud of her.
This was one of the 3 hole girls groups.  How fun to play with your cousins?!?!
This little girl loves her daddy!  And he is pretty crazy about her!
Berkley did great today.  As you can see, she scored a 37 on 3 holes.
While Jeremy and I were watching Berkley, Erika took Ledger and Hunter to play their 6 holes.
I was able to catch up with Ledger on his 4th hole.  He was doing so good.  Things have really clicked for him this summer.  He can really hit the ball and is pretty accurate each time.  I love this kid!
Ledger loved playing with Hunter this year.  Hunter is a great golfer so it was good for Ledger to be with him.
Check out that swing!
At one point, Ledger ended up in the sand trap.  He was pretty disappointed but was able to get out of there in 2 shots.  Once he was on the green he putted it in like a champ!
Jeremy left Berkley and I and headed over to see Brody and Case.  He caught up to Ledger and I on the last hole, just in time for a cute picture!
Ledger won the 3 hole tournament last year which meant he HAD to play the 6 hole.  This was the perfect amount of holes for him. As you can see, Ledger shot a 62 today.  That's about 10 swings per hole.  I couldn't be more proud of this boy! Way to go Ledger!
Up next was Brody and Case.  When we signed up for the tournament yesterday, I specifically asked that these 2 boys be separated in the tournament.  Unfortunately they put them together which was good for Jeremy and I, but hard for them.
When Jeremy and u met up with Brody and Case, Brody was having a hard time.  His swing has changed a lot this summer.  For whatever reason, his ball shanks far right but doesn't go anywhere.  He was having a tough time.
Most of Brody's shots were in the forest like this.  No matter how hard he tried, he just could't keep it on the green.  There were tears and frustration.  It was a tough day.
Brody is an excellent chipper and putter.  He is really accurate.  If he could get his drives going the right direction, he would be a great golfer.  Hopefully he can get some lessons and get his swim back on track.
This boy had a hard day.  There were times where I thought he might throw in the towel and quit.  But there was something very different about this boy today.  Although there were tears, he kept playing.  He didn't give up.  He was frustrated but he was able to handle it.  He was able to let it go and move forward.  This is huge for this kid.  I am beyond proud of him.  When the game was over, he looked at his score and was disappointed but his didn't get angry.  He ate his lunch, went to tennis and laughed about it later with his cousin Maci.  My heart is so heavy thinking about Brody today.  He is an amazing boy and I am happy to see that he was able to laugh it off today.  I love this boy so much!
Case had an amazing day on the course today.  He hits the ball so hard and is pretty accurate each time.  He has a good mind set and is able to really focus on the game.  In my opinion, that's the hardest part.
Can you see the power behind the hit?  It is incredible to watch.  He has great form.  He is fun to watch.
At one point, Case ended up in the forest.  Lucky for him he is able to hit it out and get back on track.
This boy is such an athlete.  He can really focus on the game and make amazing shots. I am so proud of this boy.  He works hard and is dedicated to whatever he is doing.
Here are the scores for Brody and Case.  As you can see, these 2 boys couldn't have played any different today.  I am beyond proud of them both!
Case was the winner for the boys back 9.  He was surprised but so happy.  Because he won the back 9, he has to play 18 holes next year.  He is 10 years old!  18 holes is going to be a killer!!
I am so proud of this kid.  He is an amazing athlete.  I love his focus and dedication.  Congrats Case Felstead!  You are the cutest thing ever!  I cannot wait to watch you play 18 holes next year!

Playing Holes At White Mountain Country Club

This afternoon, Kim and I took these 4 kiddos to play some golf.  They are all excited for the tournament tomorrow and wanted to get some practice.
I love watching Ledger getting ready to tee off.  He looks so small next to the big golf course!  Don't let that fool you though, this little dude has a BIG swing!
Case has been begging to play golf all week.  I'm so happy we were finally able to play today.  This kid has a swing like you wouldn't believe! He kills the ball!
Dang sand traps!  No problem for this boy!
The highlight of the day was Case getting to drive the golf cart.  Funny boy!
When the kids all decided they wanted to play golf, Brody was playing tennis with some of his little cousins.  He was having so much fun that he didn't want to play golf with us.  After the first 2 holes with Case and Ledger, I got a hold of Brody and told him that I was taking him golfing.  He agreed as long as it was just the two of us.  I went and got him and he played 5 holes today.  He did pretty good.    When he focuses on the game, he plays well.  Golf is a serious mental game.  It is hard to stay focused!
I had so much fun with Brody today.  There is something different about this kid this summer.  He seems much more relaxed and happy the past week.  He is actually being so much nicer and kinder to me which makes me thrilled.  i love you Brody.  So happy we were able to spend some time together today!

BINGO

This evening, 20 of us headed over to White Mountain Country Club for family BINGO night.  While I love BINGO night, it's a little bit crazy with 400 other people playing.  Oh and the fact that we NEVER win anything and there are always tears by time its over.
As usual, not one of us won in BINGO.  Presley did win a raffle prize as did Hunter.  Hunter had to give his prize away to someone who wasn't at our table.  He gave it to a cute girl inside and was pretty ok with it. Some other highlights of the night were:  Nicole, Cave and Blake spent the evening at Urgent Care finding out that they had strep throat.  And Sugar had to take Ash and the kids back to Mesa so they could get on a flight back to Pennsylvania tomorrow.  Lisa and Chandler were here which was fun.
Thanks for not crying tonight BINGO kids.  I am proud of you for having fun but not thinking you need to need to leave with a bike or fishing pole!

As If The Cabin Wasn't Fun Enough

Sugar's cabin could not be any more fun.  There are crafts to be made, pool to be played, fooseball, ping pong, video games, softball and kickball games on the golf course and a bunk room filled with forts and fun.  Over the weekend, the Dad's were all here and we convinced them to put up a zip line across the backyard.  So they went to work and now we have the coolest zip line around town.
The first two pulls were not working, so Jeremy ordered a fancy one from Amazon and now it works like a charm.
I love watching Berkley get pulled up and down over and over by one of her brothers.
And of course there is always one to catch her at the bottom.
Case was the first to try out the zip line today.  Thank goodness it worked out!
The other thing that happened at the cabin was this cool outdoor movie screen. The 6 of us (Kim, Erika, Karla, Me, Ash and H) went in on it as a gift for Sugar and Jim.  We could hardly wait to use it for a movie outside.
That night, we used Brody's projector,  hooked up the computer and watched Night At The Museum  on the lawn in the backyard. The kids thought this was soon cool.  I kinda did too!
Of course no outdoor movie would be complete without a HUGE bowl of Jim's popcorn.
It is pretty chilly at the cabin at night so we had LOTS of blankets and pillows,
This little guy fell sound asleep during the movie.
The kids will never forget this.  These are some fun memories.
I seriously don't know what we would do without Brody and his mad technology skills.  He had us all hooked up with sound and the movie in no time at all.  Love how smart he is.
