Swim Banquet

Tonight we attended the swim banquet for the 2012 swim season. The boys were sad that the summer swim season is over but are excited to spend the month of July at the cabin.

Ledger and some of the 6 and unders.
Do all 5 year olds love trophies this much?

Case and some of the 7 year old swimmers.
After the swim banquet we headed over to the pool for some swimming and fun.  Then the storm rolled in and we headed home.  We will miss swim team and all our friends but can hardly wait to get to the cabin for some relaxing and fun!

Golf Awards!

Along with swim team and tennis, the boys were able to participate in the golf program at Mesa Country Club.  Although it is suuuuuper hot, they loved chipping, putting and whacking the ball as hard as possible. Here are the boys with the rest of the junior golfers.
Brody is really doing well at golf.  He loves the sport and loves hanging out with his friends.
 Getting ready to swing.
Case is a super golfer also.  He loves the sport but I don't think it's as fast and competitive as he likes.
For his 7th birthday, Case decided to ask for a new wood.  He sure can whack the ball with his new clubs.
Ledger actually really likes the game of golf.  I think it's just the right pace for him, slow and easy!
His swing isn't as good as it was last year, but I think that's because his clubs are a little too small for him.
Today the kids had their golf BBQ and awards ceremony.  Brody won the award for
"The Most Talented Golfer." He was thrilled.
Case won the award for "The Most Awesome Golfer."  Would you believe he cried for an hour after winning this award because he didn't want the Most Awesome Golfer Award.  He wanted the award for the Best Golfer Ever ! Silly Kid!
Some of the golf friends.  Brielle, Matix, Sawyer, Case, Zack, Brody, Ledger and Josh.

Tennis Time!

This was the first summer my boys were able to participate in the tennis program at Mesa Country Club and they LOOOOOOVED it!  They played all 4 weeks of June and really improved during the month. The last day they played in a little tournament and all three did fantastic.  We can hardly wait to get up to White Mountain Country Club to play there too!
Ledger couldn't even make contact with the ball the first week of the tennis clinic.  By the last week, he was hitting it left and right!
Brody was the same way.  His instructor kept saying to him, "Brody, keep your eye on the ball."  By the last day, he and Case had tied for 2nd place in the tournament.
 Look at this awesome shot!
Case is just good at every sport he tries so tennis was no exception.  He was whacking it all over the place and having a ball!
Great shot Case!

Champions!!

Tonight we had our swim championships.  The first night of championships the boys had to qualify. The second night the top 8 swimmers went back to compete for a medal.  As you can see, there was no shortage of medals for these swimmers!
Each boy chose their 2 favorite strokes to swim and then the 100 IM.  Since Brody is an awesome backstroker, he chose that and freestyle.  He should have never chosen freestyle because every 9 year old kid chose it too.  Brody ended up with a 4th place medal in backstroke and and 8th place medal in freestyle. He did not qualify for the 100 IM even though he swam his little heart out.
Nice dive B-Dog!
Getting ready for the race.  Case is all business at these swim meets.  He comes home after his morning practice and sleeps for about 2 hours.  He then fuels up with healthy snacks and is ready to go.
Max, Luke, Case and Brody
Case chose to swim breaststroke, butterfly and the 100 IM.  Would you believe it if i told you he got a 1st place medal in all three events for the 7 year old boys.  His butterfly race was so close but somehow at the end he pulled through.
Ledger did not qualify to go back for the last day of championships but he did decided to go (on the night of his birthday) to cheer on his brothers.
I can almost guarantee that these 2 seven year olds are debating who swam the fastest race and who will win high point.
Sugar and the birthday boy.
Brody did not have his game on tonight but he still did good and had fun. He looks like he's swimming for the Olympic team!
Max, Luke and Brody.  These three boys are great 9 year old swimmers!
Brody showing off his fourth and eighth place medals.
Brody  raced a 23:11 for backstroke and a 20:13 in freestyle.
Case raced a 25:39 for Breaststroke and a 22:97 for butterfly.
Since Case won his 3 races, he (and Katy) received "High Point" winner for all of the 7 year old club swimmers.  He received an embroidered swim bag along with 3 blue medals.  So proud of you
Case-Man! It has been a fun summer at the club.  Although it is waaaaaay too hot for me to sit outside for the first 6 hours of the day, I have very much enjoyed watching these three boys play tennis, golf and swim team.

Finally 5!

Today is Ledger's 5th birthday.
He has been patiently waiting for this day for 6 months now.
His breakfast in bed consisted of a waffle, sausage, orange julius and orange juice.
This boy is smart and charming.
He is struggling with his behavior.  I am concerned!
This boy is head strong and determined...one day it will be a good thing...right?
Ledger's laugh makes us all smile.
His HUGE screaming fits make us want to claw our eyes out!
This boy is good at math and reading.
He likes to rollerblade and is learning to ride a bike without training wheels.
He plays flag football, baseball, tennis and golf.
He is on the swim team.
Ledgers best friends are Jack and Little E.
We love this boy so much.
I hope he knows how special he is to us!
Happy Birthday Ledge-Man!

Giddy-Up!

It's the last week of summer school for Miss B.
We will sure miss these fun summer weeks at her amazing school.
Can't wait for fall when she gets to go to school again!

For Ledger's 5th birthday party, we took he and his friend Jack for a morning of bowling and then lunch at Mattas.
Brody was quite the bowler today.  He was on his game today!
Case is a good little bowler too!
This girl can't bowl worth beans but she sure looks cute!
