It's hard to believe the little Misses is 8 weeks old already! Where did the time go? Oh I know, I'm half asleep each day and don't have a clue what is going on!! So yesterday I took Berkley to the pediatrician for her 8 week check up. Can I just say, I loose sleep over these appointments! I hate the fact that they are going to juice her up with immunizations! I hate it hate it hate it!! I know they are good for our kids because they prevent childhood illnesses. While I don't want my kids coming down with Polio, Whooping Cough or Measles, I don't understand why the shots have to be given all at one time. Why should my 11 pound baby have to get 5 shots plus an oral vaccination at one appointment? It just doesn't seem right. It doesn't feel right. How could a little body like hers handle all that juice? It scares me every time I take one of my kids and they tell me they will be receiving 3, 4, or even 5 shots that very day!! WHY? I've talked to my pediatrician about it over and over! He tells me I'm crazy. Am I? I've talked to other Mom's and Dad's out there who have kids with Autism or Diabetes. They SWEAR it was caused by the immunizations given all at one time. Why do all the parents feel one way, but the doctors feel another? It puzzles me! So you may be wondering why I don't just spread the immunizations out one month to another. After all, it's not like I'm against immunizing kids. Well the answer is simple. My pediatrician won't let me. He says there is no link between Autism and immunizations. He says there is no reason to do this. What is your opinion?

My beautiful baby GIRL!!
Back to my baby girl. At 8 weeks she is smiling, talking and sucking on her hands. She is alert and loves to look at everything around her. She weighs 11 pounds 4 ounces and is 22 and 1/4 inches long. She loves her swing and spends most her days chillin in it! Her night time schedule has changed the last week...not for the good. She sounds congested while she is sleeping which causes her to not sleep as well therefore wanting to be fed and soothed! I can't complain because she is only getting up 2 times during the night (sounds pretty good Libby...right?) She still sleeps in a cradle next to me each night. I love this! Every time she starts fussing at night I can't help but to giggle inside with excitement. Never once have I rolled out of bed to feed her and thought to myself, "When will this be over?" I'm a Mom to a sweet baby GIRL! How luck am I?
