Week 4 Cabin Highlights

Our last week at the cabin was so fun!  The kids were a little wound up and slightly crazy, but we enjoyed our last bit of time together in the beautiful mountains.

 Case learned to climb trees this week.  It was a little weird watching him shimmy his way to the top, but even more hilarious when he couldn't figure out how he was going to get back down.  

 Brody worked on his Textile Merit Badge with Sugar this week.  As you can see he was thrilled about it. He was having a pretty rough week in case you couldn't tell.  More on that later.

 One of the requirements for the Textile Merit Badge is to dye a fabric.  He used tea bags and turned his cotton fabric into brown fabric.  He then picked geraniums from the front yard and boiled them to see if the fabric would turn red.  It turned a little pink but that was all.  

 H, Nicole, Presley, Cave and Blake headed up the last weekend we were there and we celebrated Presley's 6th birthday with a pizza party.  Each of the kids made their own pizzas.  They loved making them and ate only a little bit of them,

 The boys mostly ate the toppings before they put them on their pizzas.

 On the day that Kim took Brody, Case and Katlyn horseback riding, Ledger and Berkley stayed home and made Kool-Aide popsicles and Rice Krispy treats with Sugar.  Yummy!

 I found a cute scavenger hunt online.  We put the kids in groups of 2 and sent them with our cell phones to take pictures of each of the items on the list.  

 Do you see why we love it here?  58 degrees?  LOVE!

 We spent a little bit of time with cousins Josh and Abby at their cabin.  They made silly putty and built blocks.  They love being with their cousins and especially Aunt Dorme!

 Of course their were bike rides every day.  We are going to miss our time at the cabin so much.  The thought of what is to come with the start of school frightens me!  I am really dreading this school year with Berkley's afternoon preschool schedule.  I really have no idea how I am even giving to get the kids to all of their activities by myself.  This maybe the longest school year of my life!  I'm just hoping my kids get good teachers this year.
