Snow Much Fun!!

Sunday morning we woke up to a blanket of snow covering the cabin.  While we were cleaning up the cabin and getting ready to come home, this is what the boys were doing:

Case made a snow angel,

Hunter, Brody and Ledger threw snowballs, and...

Ledger can finally reach the pedals on the jeep and quads.  One problem though...he hasn't figured out how to steer.  After crusin across the golf course, Jim turned the steering wheel so he would jst go in circles.  That was even more fun because now he could see his tire tracks in the snow!! We didn't really want to go home after seeing the snow!  Brody cried when Jim told him he had to take down the signs on the fort he and the other kiddos had made under the stair case.  We hate leaving the cabin.  It's so fun and relaxing.
We are already counting down the days till December 26th when we get to go back!!

The fort sign reads:
Keep out of our club we are busy
Leave the door
Hunter Z., Ledger F., Aiden Boss, Brody F., Anna B. Case F.

Moms and Dads and others welcomed
to have a nice day!

Some of the art work the kids made to hang in the fort.

Attack of the killer pinecone!!

So last night after I gave Ledger a bath, he came running out to the family room naked with his pajamas in hand for Sugar to put on.  He tripped on his way, landed on the largest pinecone you've ever in your life seen, and ended up with this...

From what they tell me, he fussed for a minute and then was fine!  When I asked him to show me what happened, he lifted up his p.j. bottoms and said, "Ledger fine!"  You may be wondering why we would have a pinecone INSIDE the cabin.  Well, yesterday we went on a little hike to the lake and collected treasures in baggies along the way.  This treasure ended up out of the bag and on the family room floor.  Also, see his cute snow hat?  He literally hasn't taken it off all week!  He sleeps with it and takes it off for just a few seconds so I can wash his hair at night.  He calls it his Christmas hat! It's about 3 sizes too small for him, but he doesn't seem to mind.

Christmas Countdown and SNOW!

Today was another fun day for us at the cabin!  The kids made Christmas countdown chains, played in the fort under the staircase, and even caught snowflakes on their tongues this evening!!  I made Berkley a Christmas tutu and learned how to make leg warmers (for her...not me!!).  I wish I had more time here because I have a few projects I want to work on and I just can't do it at home.  Not only that, but I'm dreading taking down the Thanksgiving decorations and putting up the Christmas things.  Only 12 days till we host our first party!!! YIKES!

Anna, Ledger, Case, Brody, Aiden, and Hunter
are ready to countdown the days until Christmas!

It started snowing tonight!  It was soooo exciting!

Here we are bundled up outside in the freezing snow! If anyone knows how to get a 4 year old to look like he's having a fun time taking pictures, let me know!

Gingerbread Houses

Today we attempted to get in the Christmas spirit by making gingerbread houses.  Sugar went to Target and bought the kits for all the kids.  They looked easy enough.  Simply glop the frosting all over the house and decorate right?  Wrong.  They were extremely fragile and wouldn't stay together.  Both Brody and Case opened their kit to find both roof pieces broken.  Sugar and I did our best to make them work, but no luck!  Luckily she had purchased 3 kits where the house was already put together and all you had to do was add the candy decorations.  They ended up turning out great, but not before lots of tears and sad faces.
Poor Brody.  His roof just wouldn't stay on his house!

After 2 tries, Brody's gingerbread house turned out darling!

Case had more fun eating the candy for the houses!

Ledger was thrilled to make a gingerbread house and eat all the candy that went on it!

Sarah and Anna did a great job on their Gingerbread House.

Aunt Michel and Aiden were having a little too much fun!

Sugar tried so hard to make Cases broken gingerbread house work.

Brody and I worked hard to make his broken gingerbread house work, but we failed terribly!!
