Father's Day at the Westin Kierland

Yesterday, we headed out to Scottsdale for dinner at BJ's and then to spend the night at the Westin Kierland.  We do something like this every Father's Day but each year we are trying a different resort.   After our short staycation here, the Westin Kierland will be top of our list.
Saturday morning we woke up early and met everyone for breakfast.  After breakfast it was time to hit the pool.  The Westin Kierland has a super fun pool filled with a lazy river and waterslide.  We loved having chicken fights in the pool and playing a mean game of football.
I have fond memories of MY dad flipping me in the pool just like Jeremy is flipping Berkley.
We ate lunch by the pool and had smoothies in the late afternoon.
Berkley had a ball today.  She and I did shoulder leg lifts, along with other fun dance moves.
Case is just about too bug to be flipped.  I hate that my kids are growing up.
The Westin Kierland has a great surfing thing called the Flowrider.  We had planned on sending the dad's for an hour of fun surfing, however, the mom's ended up surfing too.  Jeremy was up first and he did really good surfing and "dropping in."
There were some crazy hard falls but we didn't care, we were having too much fun! I'm guessing by tomorrow we will care when we can't move our necks and backs!
Waiting to surf.
I am clearly out of shape and it showed today as I was trying to surf.  This was so much harder then I ever thought.  It was super fun though.
My butt and neck are going to be mad at me tomorrow!
 The surfer dudes and dudettes!
Kim had surgery on her foot a week ago and she was unable to swim or surf.  Poor thing!
The kids had a great time on the lazy river.  Love this soon to be 8 year old!
Cute soon to be junior high boy!
The kids actually tried the Flowrider out before the adults today.  We are awesome parents like that! Case had a great time surfing today.
Brody has really good balance and was able to surf really well today.
Berkley was too small to be able to "surf" but she was able to boogie board which was fun.
Of course she is fearless so she was trying to stand up the whole time.
YIKES!  That looks like it hurts!
Ledger was so bummed when he realized he was too short to "surf."  He still had a good time boogie boarding today!
Besides the kids hour of surfing and the adult hour of surfing, the kids played and played and played in the water.
 Splash pads are always fun!
Jeremy was even able to shut his eyes and relax for a few minutes today.  Happy Father's Day Jeremy!  Hope you enjoyed your staycation gift!
