Gingerbread Houses

Tonight we FINALLY made our gingerbread houses.  Since we didn't get to go to the cabin for Thanksgiving break, we didn't get to make them like we normally do.
It was so funny watching Case make his gingerbread house.  This is really not his thing and he kinda slops it all on and is thrilled with the end result!
Ledger was really into his house this year.  He wanted it to be perfect which is really hard to do when making a gingerbread house.
Things like this are just what Brody loves!  This kid could work for hours and hours on craft projects and gingerbread crafting.  His house always turns out AMAZING!
Berkley has become very crafty these days.  She was really into her gingerbread house this year.
Making gingerbread houses at home this year was not as fun as making them at the cabin with all the cousins. You should have seen my kitchen floor when it was over.
 Case's finished gingerbread house.
 Miss B.'s finished gingerbread house.
 Brody's finished gingerbread house.
 Ledger's finished gingerbread house.
These will look so cute sitting in our dining room this week.  And they smell delicious!

It's A Hard Knock Life!

In August, Berkley started at a new dance studio called Impact.  She looooves it and has made so much progress.  Tonight she had the opportunity to perform her company dance, "It's A Hard Knock Life" at Highland High School's half time basketball game.  Here she is blowing us kisses before she gets ready to perform.
Marching out getting ready to perform.
This is seriously the cutest dance ever!
"Don't it feel like the wind is always howling?"
 "Empty belly life….rotten smelly life."
EAch girl had a little part that they did in the song, like one of the orphans in the movie.  Here is Miss B. doing, "I LOVE YOU MS. HANNIGAN!"
 "I LOVE YOU MS. HANNIGAN!"
 "IT"S A HARD KNOCK LIFE!!!"
Before the performance, Jim went to the practice room to take pictures of the girls.  This little lady has so much spunk!  It's the BEST!
These are the cutest, sweetest little 5 year old's…even though they are acting like grouchy orphans!
Miss Taylor is the best!  She is sweet yet strict with these little ladies.  She is a great dance teacher and the girls love her!
We are so proud of our little dancer.  She is seriously so fun to watch!  And this costume….LOVE IT!!

Orchestra Concert

As if we didn't have enough going on right now, tonight was the orchestra concert at the school.  Both Brody and Case were in the orchestra this year which has been tricky.  Their school does orchestra AFTER school which means Case goes from 3:00-3:30 and Brody goes from 4:00-4:30.
Case chose to play the bass this year which means he is in the back for the concert.   We could hardly see him but we think he was really playing!
Can you believe how small Case looks holding the bass?  Too funny!
After Case performed, Brody and the advanced orchestra played.  Brody is still playing cello and doing really well with it.
They played some fun Christmas songs while wearing these cute reindeer antlers.
Mr. Abrahams the principal read a Night Before Christmas story while the kids played along.  It was really good. I was impressed.
Nanny, Papa and GG Sears came to watch tonight.
So did Sugar and Jim.  I am so proud of these boys.  I love that they love music, even if it takes half my afternoon getting them to and from orchestra!

That's Christmas Entertainment!

This morning we were able to watch Berkley perform at her Christmas singing recital.  I love love love this recital.  The songs are adorable and the choreography is the best!
This year Jordan and Paisley were in her class and Katlyn was in the older class.
I love that Berkley loves this more then other activity she is in.
Sing it girl!
This girl has got the moves!
After the younger and older kids performed, they performed a Christmas song together!
This girl can sing!
At the end of the show, Santa made a surprise visit.  He walked right up to Berkley and started talking to her.  She was all smiles!
Santa gave each of the girls a fuzzy pair of socks.
Jordan and Berkley the rock stars!

Winter Sing

I have a confession to make.  I really do not like winter sing.  I really don't like anything about it.  I don't like the songs. I don't like that I can't hear a word my kids are singing because the acoustics are so bad and honestly, I really don't care for the music teachers.  Is that bad?  I tried to talk my kids out of doing winter sing this year. One took me up on the offer but 2 didn't which meant we still had to go.  Brody felt like as student body president, he should go.  Ledger is still little and thinks it's kinda fun, and Case was like, "I AM NOT DOING WINTER SING!"  Because the school chose to break up the nights that each grade performed, we had to go two nights in a row.  Not exactly what I wanted to do right now.
As usual, the auditorium was packed and I couldn't hear a word that was sung.  It was a complete waste of time except that look how cute Ledger is? Ok so I'm glad we went cause this little man is a cutie pie! And check out Brody above singing like a champ. Fingers crossed that I can talk all 3 boys out of Spring sing in April!
