Winter Sing

 On Thursday, (the day Jeremy turned the big 4-0) we headed over to Red Mountain High School for Brody and Case's Winter Sing.  We weren't really sure what to expect being that this is our first year at the school, but we were amazed at how well the kids did.  The songs they sang were hard and the kids knew all the words.  The only thing was that it was hard to hear the songs.  They needed more microphones on the stage.  

 Case had a little singing part with these 2 other boys.

 Up next was Brody.  I love that Brody always finds the camera and poses.

 I really am proud of these 2 boys and how they have jumped in at the new school and are trying new things.

Santa Party

 On Saturday we had the opportunity to attend John and Sheena's annual Santa party.  My kids love this party mainly because there is candy and cookies and treats galore, all at 10:00 in the morning.  This year my kids are having a hard time trying to figure out what they want Santa to bring them. They are looking on Target, Toys R Us and Walmart websites to see what toys are out there. It's a little ridiculous if you ask me.  I was anxious to see what my kids would ask Santa for this year since they really haven't told Jeremy and I what they want.

 Brody and Case ate candy canes while waiting for Santa.

 Cave tried to kiss Berkley.

 Brody told Santa he wants a Kindle Fire this year.

 Case wants an IPod Nano and a BMX racing bike because the bike he got last year just isn't fast enough.

 Ledger wants an IPod Nano and a Spiderman Web Shooter

 And Miss B wants cupcakes. That's right, play cupcakes.
 Berkley has decided that she doesn't like Santa this year.  She tells us all the time that she doesn't like him.  When the boys try and tell her that she won't get presents if she doesn't like Santa she says she doesn't want any anyway.

This kids and I.  Jeremy wasn't able to attend the Santa part with us this year which means he won't be invited next year! :)

Don't Let His Good Looks Fool You!

Case is making me crazy these days.

He is being super picky about what he is going to wear to school each day. It's a battle every morning.

He REFUSES to wear a sweatshirt or long sleeve shirt when it is cold outside. Luckily there have only been 2 cold days so far.

He is purposely ignoring me when I ask him to do something.

He has started rolling his eyes at me.

He is getting a little more physical with me then I like.

Today when I was trying to talk to him about a reading test he bombed, he was all irritated and kept walking away from me stomping his feet and yelling.  When I asked him why he was being so grouchy toward me he said, "You're getting so annoying mom!"I have to say, I wasn't quite ready for that comment yet.  I realize that when I have 3 teenage boys at home, I may hear that comment, but not from a 7 year old.  Not yet.  I guess there's a reason they call it sassy 7 year old.  Although he is cute, he may wind up in the curb! Or at Sugar's house!

Orchestra Concert

 Now that Brody is in fourth grade, he is able to play an instrument in the orchestra. After a quick trip to our favorite store Milano's, he decided on the cello. Brody goes to orchestra practice on Monday and Thursday right after school.  He is really enjoying his new instrument.

 Tonight we were able to attend his first ever orchestra concert.  I wasn't really sure what to expect being that this is our first time, but  can I  just tell you I was really impressed.  The orchestra played about 5 short numbers.  They were pretty dang good considering they have only been playing since September.  

 Brody's orchestra teacher had these kiddos playing together and enjoying every minute.  I was really impressed!

 Today Brody told me that his goal in life is to learn to play 10 instruments.  What an amazing goal to have for a 9 year old.  Since I don't play any instruments, I was super excited that he has such enthusiasm for music.  Brody also informed me that he has already played 5 instruments in his life.  Tone bells, key board, piano, recorder and cello.  

 Nanny and Papa were able to join us for a quick dinner at PF Changs and then the concert.

This is truly an amazing kid.  There is something so awesome about the way this boy uses his hands.  I am constantly telling him that there is something very special about his fingers.  I think they are going to do something wonderful one day.  So proud of you Brody!
