Not again!

Case lost another tooth today. I am getting really good at pulling them. In true Case fashion, Case lost the tooth the first night we pulled it out. We found it and then he forgot to put it under his pillow. By the third night he was lucky enough to get $5.00 for that lost tooth. Loosing teeth means a boy is growing up. I don't like that one bit

Case lost a tooth

Oh happy day! This boy has been wanting to lose a tooth since he realized that the tooth fairy brings money. Brody was loosing them left and right there for a while and Case has just been patiently waiting. Today, after much pulling from Jeremy, I yanked that puppy out of his little mouth and sent him off to school. The poor tooth was so wiggly but for some reason Jeremy couldn't get it out. While brushing Case's teeth this morning I couldn't take it any more and I pulled it out like there was no tomorrow! Now, what will the tooth fairy bring Case...?
Jeremy is so bad at pulling teeth.
Case was freeeeaaaakkkking out when he was trying to pull the tooth!
Oh you handsome little thing. Please stop loosing teeth and please stop growing up!

A Perfect Square

That's how Dr. James described Case yesterday at his 6 year well check. The reason? He weighs 44 pounds (39%) and is 45 inches tall (40%). An almost perfect square and totally normal for a 6 year old. He can hear great and see almost great. I'm going to be double checking his sight with an opthomologist in the next weeks. I had to laugh when the nurse told Case he would need to strip down to his under ware before Dr. James came in. The tears started flowing and he refused to do it. We made a deal that he could keep his pants on until the doc needed to see how everything was looking "down there." This puzzled Case and he asked over and over why the doc would need to check his privates. Poor guy, he was beyond stressed about this appointment. Would he get shots? Why did he need to be in his under ware? He was not a happy camper. It's almost easier when they are little and don't know what to expect. Lucky for me, McDonald's on the way back to school eased the pain. Thank you Happy Meal and Sprite!!

Hearing: GOOD (although sometimes I wonder)
Height (spiky hair not included) 45 Inches tall
Weight: 44 pounds
Case is so not a "touchy" person. He squeals and squirms when you try to kiss, hug or touch him. He has always been that way, even as a day old baby. You can imagine how hard it is for case to have to lay down and get examined by the doctor. PURE TORTURE!!

BTW: Why are my pictures so grainy Miss Ashley? Do I have something on my camera set wrong or is really impossible to take a good picture while holding a wiggly 18 month old?

A Lesson From My 5 Year Old

The other night, we were sitting around the dinner table eating and talking about the days events. Brody was at Cub Scouts and I was complaining about the recent news of Brody not making it on the baseball team with the boys he has played with for the past 2 years. Case and Ledger were listening in as I complained about how I was unsure how I would be able to get 3 boys to practices and games along with the fact that Jeremy agreed to assist another coach which means he would always have to be at Brody's games. So I am ranting and raving more and more when my little 5 year old says to me, "Mom...Brody has been on this team for 2 years now. Maybe it would be good for him to be on a new team so he can meet new friends." He then goes on to say, "Think about it mom, it's not gonna hurt him to play baseball with a new group of boys." WOW!! Jeremy and I looked at each other from across our little table, he had been complaining too. Case was right and we both knew it! It is not gonna hurt Brody to play on a new team with new boys. It will be difficult for me as the mom to not be able to carpool with the other boys to practices and games. It will be difficult for Jeremy and I to work out the schedule with who will be doing what, but it will all be o.k. How often does this happen to us as parents? We think we are doing what is best for our kids when really we are hurting them or hindering them from moving forward. Case put it so clearly to me. Although comfortable and easy for ME, it is probably best for him to stretch himself socially AND athletically. After all, he's not trying to become a professional. He is there to learn and have fun. His new coach will be fantastic I'm sure and the new friends he meets will be ones he will know for years to come. I am so grateful for these daily lessons...even when they come from a 5 year old! Thanks Case for putting it all in perspective!
