Hiking Sunrise

On Saturday, we all headed up to Sunrise for a hike down the mountain. We had attempted to do this last Saturday, but when we got to Sunrise, the mountain was closed due to an archery competition. Lucky for us, we were able to go back this weekend. The chairlift ride was amazing and it was overcast outside which made for perfect hiking weather.  Case was a little nervous on the ride up.  He kept asking, "Mom, what if the chair breaks and we fall to the ground." And, "Mom, what if we get stuck on the chair and we have to stay here all day and night."
Ledger on the other hand was not one bit worried.  He ate the trail mix Case made for everyone and enjoyed the scenery.
The view at the top of the mountain was AMAZING!  It was windy and chilly but beautiful.
You can see for miles at the top of Sunrise Mountain.
We started down the mountain and all was good.  Case listened to his IPOD, Berkley looked for walking sticks, and Ledger whined and cried because the other half of our group took off without us and he wanted to be with them instead of me.
This little lady continues to amaze me.  She walked almost the entire hike and hardly complained.  We held hands most the way down because it was slippery on the gravel.  It was so fun for me!
Somehow I was able to get one picture of Ledger happy.  Maybe he felt bad that his 3 year old sister was enjoying the hike and not complaining.:)
Jeremy hiked UP the mountain and then met us on the way down.  I bet you are asking where Brody is?  He was in the "fast" group who cruised down the mountain without us slow pokes!
After we hiked down the mountain.  We got back on the chair lift and rode it up and down. Case stayed at the bottom with Katlyn (who was broken out in hives and swollen like a balloon due to the trail mix Case made.) It was so beautiful on the way down.  We got to the bottom just in time for the lightening and rain to start.
Mom stayed at the bottom of the mountain with Hudson and Kendall so Ash could hike with Ella and Brooklyn. I think Hudson was ready to hike Sunrise with the rest of us!
