A Conversation With Case 5-27-09

C:  "Mom, when I get bigger...like big like Dad, I don't want to be anybody.  Mom, I don't want to be anybody, I just want to live at home and be Case."  
M:  "O.k. Case...sounds good to me!"
C:  "But Mom, when I get bigger I'm gonna have a different name.  It rhymes with Case and it's gonna be Lace."
Brody chimes in, "Case, Lace is a girls name."
C:  "No it's not Brody, it's a name that rhymes with Case."

Learning more hand signs at school!

12-9-08

Brody came home again from school with more hand signs! 

B:  "Mom did you know if you put these 2 fingers (pointer and middle fingers) up it means "peace?" 
M:  "Did the same boy who taught you this teach you the other hand signs?" 
B:  (Laughing) "I don't know!"
M:  (Laughing) "Maybe you should find a friend who doesn't know so many hand signs!!"


Learning So Much The First Week Of School

12-5-08
On the way home from El Charro tonight Brody tells us:

B: "Mom, did you know that if you stick your middle finger in the air it's like saying a bad word?"
M:  "What?" "Who told you that?"
B: "One of the boys in my new class said if you stick your middle finger in the air it's the same as saying a bad word."  "What bad word does it mean mom?"
M: "It's a word that we don't ever say in our house and if I ever hear you say it, I'll stick 5 bars of soap in your mouth and make you suck on them all night."
B:"I think I know what word it is mom."  It's (spelling it out) h-a-t-e.
M: (laughing with Jeremy in the front seat) It's way worse then that Brody! 
B: "Oh I know mom, it's  s-u-c -s  or  s-u-k-s (trying to spell sucks).  Mom did you know people at my school say bad words all the time!"
M: "What??" (thinking to myself, what have I done by moving him to this new school?)
B:  Yeah mom, they say hate, stupid, butt and sucks.
M:  (still trying not to laugh) So do you tell them not to say that in front of you?  You can tell them that you don't like them talking like that in front of you!
B: "No way Mom!! They'll punch me in the face!"
M:  (Thinking to myself) Oh the joys of public school!! Can't wait to hear what he learns next week!
 

From the mouth of Case:

12-5-08
Mom (with a sigh).  These shoes make me look fat!

Case:  "Mom can I have lunch with Dad again today?"
Me:  "No Case, Dad's not in town."  "He went hunting."
Case:  "Why Mom?"
Me:  "Cause he really wants to get an Elk."
Case:  "Steaks are in elk mom."
Me: "Steaks are in elk??"
Case:  "Yeah Mom, Dad wants to get an elk cause they have steaks inside them!" "Dad wants to get an elk so he can take the steaks out of them!"
Me: (thinking to myself) No wonder I'm not a big meat eater!
