Hiking Sunrise 2015

This morning, all 20 of us headed up to Sunrise for some hiking and fun. Of course we all wore our Allen Companies!
The weather was FREEZING at the top of the mountain, but as we started hiking, we warmed up.
For the hiking Webelos pin, Case had to hike 3 miles.  Sunrise isn't 3 miles down, so he and Jeremy ran up Sunrise and then walked down with the rest of us.
The other 18 of us took the chair lift up and hiked down.
I love my little hiking bunch.
This little lady is the best.  After she found the perfect walking stick, she found bugs, and flowers, and trees, and cool rocks, and squirrels, and more sticks.  She did great on the hike today.
This new Wolf is having so much fun working on scout requirements.  He loved that it was finally his turn to make trail mix and hike for a scouting requirement.
 Beautiful flower Miss B.
Because I stuck close to Miss B., we were a bit slower then the boys.  They actually got to rest at Midway while waiting for us.
Of course we had to stop at the Sugar sign.  The boys are actually thinking about calling Sugar "Lower Lupe" instead of Sugar.
Hiking is fun with this family, especially now that they are old enough to hike and not complain.
 Showing our Allen.
Jim rode up and down the lift while we were hiking.
He was able to get some great shots of us from above.
After we hiked down Sunrise, (or up and down as Case and Jeremy did), we jumped back on the chair lift and rode it up and down.  The view down is beautiful.
Riding the chair lift is so much fun!
After hiking, all 20 of us headed to Greer to eat lunch at Rendezvous Cafe.
It was the perfect way to end our day.

Fire Safety

Now that I have 3 Scouts, there are tons of fire safety requirements they each need.  Being that Brody is a Boy Scout, there is a whole Fire Safety merit badge he can earn.  Today we headed over to the Pinetop Fire Department for some learning and fun.
There were 2 firemen on duty today and they seemed more then happy to have us there.  I literally handed them all 3 of the boys scout books and little by little they helped these boys through the requirements.
The highlight of the day was getting to hang out and learn some first aid in the back of the ambulance.
By time the visit was over, these boys had been hooked up to every machine in the ambulance and had learned about every piece of medical equipment in the ambulance.  This was by far the best fire department tour we have ever had.  When we left the fire department, we headed back to the cabin, cut up the Texas sheet cake Case made earlier, wrote a thank you card and headed back over to the fire department to thank them for the amazing visit. Thank you Pinetop fire department!!

Hiking Greer

For the past 6 days, Brody has been hiking Greer with his scout troop. I was so nervous about him going on this scout outing.  Jeremy wasn't able to go until the second day which made it even harder.
It rained buckets most of the days the boys were hiking but Brody didn't care, he was well prepared!
There was a visit by the forest rangers which I'm sure was informative and fun.
There was a service project while they were there.
I imagine this water was cold being that the temperature outside wasn't super hot!
Brody is a hard worker when it comes to scouts.
I am so proud of him for his dedication to the scout program.
Brody and Kaden must have found something in this stream.  Kaden is moving to a different ward come August.  This is going to be hard for Brody.  These are good boys and they are great friends. Kaden and his family will be greatly missed.
Love these 2 boys.
A few of the scouts that went on the 6 day hike.  These boys ended up hiking 35 miles in 2 and a half days.  They had to pack in all their things and set up 3 different camps.  These boys rock!
Luckily the scenery in Greer is amazing.  Who wouldn't want to camp here?
A rainy and cold campout makes for good memories.
Look at all these tents.  Brody is so beyond lucky to have such amazing leaders.  He is working so hard and will have his Eagle in no time thanks to these men.  What an amazing opportunity Brody is getting by participating in the boy scout program.

Fourth Of July Dance Party

Since the White Mountain Fourth Of July carnival got rained out, (wink wink) we decided to have a dance party on the patio.  We hooked up the karaoke machine and IPhones and rocked out.
These kids were jammin' to all kinds of music today.
Ledger even showed Aunt Denise how to do some moves!
Berkley, Katlyn and Ava all took Miss Jenee Prince's summer musical theatre workshop so they were rocking some of her moves.  Brooklyn just had fun copying the girls.
Having a dance party today instead of going to the carnival was not so bad.  All in favor of doing this EVERY year say "I"

Fourth Of July

Happy Fourth Of July!  This is by far one of my favorite times of the year, especially when I am in beautiful Pinetop.
My heart beats true for the red white and blue....and this little bunch!
This is really one of the only times that we are together as a family.  This year, no one freaked out during pictures.  For the most part, we are all looking somewhat happy! HOORAY!
It's always a treat when my sister and her family are here.
Here we are, the adults responsible for all the craziness that happens during the month of July.
Jeremy designed our shirts again this year.  SO fun that we all match.
The girl cousins!  Berkley loooooves when there are other girls around.
These 4 had so much fun playing together.
It was fun having Michel, Chris and their kiddos at the cabin this year.  Brody especially loved having cousin Aiden here.

There was some serious ping pong going on today.
This girl poses every time she is in front of the camera!
Ledger patiently waiting for his turn at ping pong.
 I love this little firecracker!
My mom does a great job at hosting the Fourth Of July party.  There are tons of friends and family who come. The food is amazing and everyone loves the cooler weather.  This year a BIG storm blew in and it POURED rain.  We didn't make it up to the carnival at White Mountain this year, but we did have fun playing and hanging out together.  Happy Fourth Of July and Happy Birthday to my Dad.
