Cabin Week 3

 To say we are having the time of our lives here in Pinetop would be an understatement.  Words cannot express the excitement and happiness we are experiencing each day.  In between golf and tennis this past week, the kids played at the rec hall.  There is so much to do at the rec hall.  It is a party every day from 10:00-4:00.  Here are a few of the highlights.

 I think Case's favorite part of the day was dodgeball!  He lives for this game.

 Even Miss B. enjoyed playing dodgeball.  As you can see she was on the same team as Case.  Smart girl!

 Brody was a lot more into the sports this year.  Although he still found time to craft inside the rec hall, he jumped into the games of dodgeball and capture the flag.

Every weekend, Jeremy has been coming up to play with us.  Can you see him and Miss B. in the cute tree house?  This is new this year and it is super cute inside.

Each afternoon when the rec hall would close, we headed back to the cabin to rollerblade and play. Did I mention we party till we drop?

Bike rides are the best up here!  The altitude is killer, but we still love it!

One of Brody's Webelos requirements is to make something using a saw.  Thank goodness Jeremy was here to help with toolbox making.  I love the way Ella is covering her face as Brody is sawing.  

After dinner and showers and if we had any energy left, we would play games or read.  Playing, "The Body Language Game" as the Cub Scout book calls it, was hilarious.  Reading, "Because Of Winn Dixie" was a highlight of the night.  It proved to be much more uplifting and happy then last years book, "Where The Red Fern Grows." As our time here winds down, I am sad to think that summer is almost over.  We have had one of the most amazing summers together.  For now though, I am going to enjoy our last week here and try not to think about school starting again and having to get back on a schedule.

Tennis Clinic

Along with golf this week, the kids have been participating in the tennis clinic at White Mountain.  I think Ledger's favorite sport is tennis.  He is really getting good at it and loved playing in the beautiful weather.

Case is a great tennis player also.  He is learning to get the ball over the net at a fast speed and at a good spot on the court.  He is ready for some match playing!

Brody loves tennis also.  He is getting good at hitting the ball but mostly loves to play with all his friends and cousins.

Ledger giving Coach Gerard a high five.  Coach Gerard has been the best tennis coach.  He was filling in for Coach Carol and we looooved him.  He had the best attitude and wanted the kids to learn.  

Golf Clinic

 Our third week at the cabin was crazy busy!  We started the golf and tennis clinics this week which is another highlight of our summer at the cabin.  This summer, I had all three kids participating in the clinic.  Miss B. and Ledger were in the 8:45 class, Case in the 9:45 class and Brody in the 10:45 class.  The weather was so perfect this year and the kids all had a great week of learning and fun.  

 On the first day of the clinic, the kids receive instruction on what to expect during the week.  They also get to see what friends are going to be with them in their classes.  Lucky for my kids, they have a million cousins and friends that they know.

 Ledger really enjoys golf and tennis.  They are the perfect "speed" for him.

 Miss B. did pretty good for a three and a half year old.  She prefers hitting with her wood and iron and doesn't really like putting.  She couldn't figure out why she could never get the ball in the hole and that frustrated her.  The more she could "whack" the ball, the better.  

 Brody is in an age group that is dwindling in size.  This is actually good because he got lots of one on one attention from the instructors.  This year the main coaches were Colby and Eva.  We all loooooved Eva because she was so good with the kids and because she had some really good pointers that the kids could relate to. I hope she will be back next year.

 Because Miss B. is still really little, I stayed and helped her each day during the golf clinic.  It was fun watching her learn and improve each day.

 Ledger is getting really good at golf.  He loves this sport.

 Brody just has a good time where ever he is.  He doesn't like to take any instruction from me, but he listens pretty good to the other coaches.  

 Ronnie Spitler is one of the golf volunteers each year and we love having him there.  He and my dad were best friends.  They were college roommates at ASU and farmed together all the years we were growing up.  I should clarify that.  My dad was a citrus and cotton farmer and Ronnie was a pig farmer.   Anyway, we did a lot with Ronnie and his family growing up and he is like a dad to me. It is fun for my kids to be able to learn the game of golf from him.

 Brody had some good days of practice even though his golf clubs were waaaaay too small for him. 

 Case is a great golfer and continues to improve his game.  He is fun to watch during practice.

 Ledger was loving being able to show Miss B. how to golf.  They had fun being in the same group.  I love that Ledger kept encouraging Miss B. after every shot.

 The highlight of the week for Case was golfing with cousin Madden and Jace.  Case met Jace at the rec hall last week and instantly became friends with him.  Come to find out, he is cousins with Madden who is Cousins with Case.  These three boys had the best week together.

 Brody was lucky enough to golf with Case (yes, Case...can you believe it?) who is also cousins with Maci and Madden.  Case is an AAAAAAMAZING golfer!! These two boys hit it off and had so much fun together.
