B- I- N- G- O

While at the cabin, we had the opportunity to attend Family Bingo night.  You may remember last year when we attended this event, my boys all cried when we left because they didn't win anything. Normally it wouldn't be a big deal that they didn't win, but when the prizes are scooters, IPods, Star Wars Legos and cash, it makes it a little sad for 7 and 5 year olds. Well this year was different.  During the blackout game, Brody won a fish aquarium (not sure what his plans are for that) and as we were getting ready to leave, his name got drawn in the raffle for a mountain bike.  He was thrilled that he won and I was a relieved that at least one of my kids walked away with something. There were 17 of us at BINGO night which was crazy but fun. Who doesn't love BINGO right?

Kim ended up in a 3 way tie during one of the BINGO games.  She had to hula hoop to see who would win the $300.00. Let's just say hula hooping is not one of her strong suites!  She didn't walk away empty handed though, they gave her $50.00 for her efforts!

Disneyland 2010

One of our favorite things to do when we are in the LA area is to hit Disneyland.  We braved the heat and the large crowds and took the kids the last day we were there.  We did it a little different this year.  Instead of getting to the park right when it opens, we went around 1:00.  It actually worked out better this way because Miss B. got to take a morning nap and we got to stay until about 10:00 that night.  The kids had a blast and Jeremy and I had fun watching them. We did miss not having our paparazzi (Jim) there to take pictures of us while we were on the rides.  It was super hard to carry the little lady in the Bjorn and take pictures while holding churros, frozen lemonade and Mickey ice cream! We love Disneyland!

Our little lady is 10 months old!

While we were at the beach, Miss B. turned 10 months old.  While we think she is the cutest thing on earth, she is the wiggliest, squirmiest, most active 10 month old ever.  She has the loudest scream you've ever heard and the truth is, it drives us all crazy. We call her "Birdie" because when she screams it sounds like our neighbors birds that scream all day long. I realize she does it because she can't talk, but it is high pitched and really really loud (just ask anyone in primary!) Hopefully she will learn some sign language soon and be able to communicate with us better. She does have a few new words in her vocabulary this month.  She now says "Mama," "NyNy," and "BahBah," I love hearing her sweet voice say things, as long as it's not a scream. She recently grew her top two teeth and has the two side ones coming in.  After our 9 month appointment lecture from Dr. James, she has only been eating big people food.  Some of her favorites are chicken, pasta, applesauce, mandarin oranges, blueberries, bean burros and cheese crisps.  She really will eat anything, she is a good little eater.  Her smile is big and makes us all happy.  She loves her brothers, especially when they pick her up and run across the room with her.  She giggles hysterically kicking her legs and flapping her arms.  Miss B. gives the best kisses.  We just say, "kisses" and she opens her little mouth as wide as possible and goes in for the kiss. She is fast as heck at crawling and loves to stand up on things.  We love holding her hands and helping her walk.  She thinks it's so funny! 

Many people ask me if it is different having a girl.  The truth is, boys and girls are similar in most ways at this stage in the game, but there are a few things that are different between my boys and my little lady.  For instance, my little lady has yet to have a haircut.  My boys get haircuts every 6 weeks from the time they are born.  She is a super messy eater.  She loves to squish bananas and crackers in her hands just to make a mess.  My boys never did anything like that.  While we were at the beach, I put her down for bed after a super long day at Disneyland, without pajama bottoms on.  The next morning we woke up to poop smeared all over her and the crib she was sleeping in. Not one of my boys ever did such a thing!  She loves to get dirty and messy.  Not my boys! She is very vocal and loud in everything she does.  My first two boys were in speech therapy for years because they didn't talk.  She is a mamas girl.  She is perfectly happy being strapped to me in the Bjorn.  Sometimes she cries when I pass her off to someone else.  Not one of my boys ever went through the separation thing. She doesn't mind when I dress her up, put a bubblegum bead necklace on her along with a tutu and ribbon flip flops.  My boys...they would never have gone for it! Can't wait to see this little lady's milestones next month! Love you Miss B.!

A Warm Jacuzzi and Smores In July...

We love the campfires all around the resort. We especially love getting in the warm jacuzzi every night after a long day at the beach.

Each day after the golf clinic I took the kids over to the rec hall to play.  It is so surreal for me to be there since Jeremy and I spent many of our summers hanging around there.  My boys had so much fun going down the zip line, swinging, doing ceramics, and playing pool and air hockey.  Case is now known as, "Little Dude" at the rec hall because he dominated at air hockey.  He would get tokens, charging them to Sugar's account, find the biggest kid at the rec hall and ask them, "Hey, wanna verse me?" Of course the big kids all said yes because he was payin'.  All the kids at the rec hall would stand around and yell, "GO little dude!" It was comical to say the least! Brody and I played pool and made clay bowls on ceramics day.  We watched the tadpoles, mice, turtles, and frogs in the critter room while rocking out to super loud teenage techno music.  It was perfect. The lightening alarms would go off and all the kids would come running inside to wait out the storm.  The rain came down hard and I felt like I was 13 again.  It felt just like it did 23 years ago when I would spend my lazy summer days up there (except that I had a 10 month old baby strapped to my chest) I love being up here!
