The whole reason for us going to the cabin was so we could go to the North Pole Experience in Greer. My Mom got all of us tickets back in June and we were really looking forward to this weekend away. We didn't know what to expect but to say our expectations were met would be an understatement. This was the most incredible experience for our family. It was just as I had imagined the North Pole to be. It was amazing and wonderful and I can't think of a better way to start the Christmas Season. Be ready for picture overload but so many of you have asked about it and I want you to see it all! You have to do this with your kids!
Saturday afternoon we left the cabin and headed to Greer in the most crazy snowy weather you can imagine. When we got there, all 26 of us ate dinner at Molly Butler's.

While we ate, some of Santa's elves were walking around talking to the kids. They had on the most adorable elf outfits.
After dinner, we waited for our bus to come get us and take us to the North Pole.

The bus we were in had red velvet covers on the seats. It looked more like the inside of a trolley or something close to it.
While on the bus, our elf guide sang songs with us and prepared us for what we would be doing when we arrived at the North Pole. She told us about the elves and even Santa. Then she told us that we would be entering the North Pole Portal so that we could magically leave Greer AZ and enter into the North Pole. Just then the lights on the bus went out, loud Christmas music came on and these red lights began flashing all around us. The bus driver swerved from side to side as we entered the North Pole. When the lights came back on, we were pulling into the front of Santa's workshop. It looked like a barn type house with a giant bon fire in the front. The driver drove us past the reindeer stalls where we saw the reindeer eating and moving around in the barn.
As we got off the bus, our elf guide had the kids gather around the workshop doors. Then she asked them to knock loudly so the elves would hear them and let them in.
When the doors to the workshop opened, 2 of Santa's elves invited us in and took us on a tour of the Christmas' Past. Here we saw some of Santa's inventions from previous years. Too Cute!
A small glimpse of what the inside looked like. It was magical! Do you see the train at the top of this picture? It literally went through the whole workshop. It was incredible.

After we left the first room, we went into the toy making room. Each of the kids got to make a toy for a child on Christmas morning. They each made a bear with clothes and a gun that shot foam bullets. There were 2 or 3 kids assigned to an elf so there was lots of help.
Instead of making toys, Cave played on the toys.
Case was in heaven making a gun because then the elves let the kids shoot the bullets at them. Pure bliss for my boys!
The whole time we were at the North Pole, there were elves making sugar cookies in the elf bakery. You can only imagine what the North Pole smelled like...HEAVEN!
After we made toys, we walked to the wrapping paper room and had cookies and milk while singing songs with the elves.
Are you ready for this? This is what the wrapping paper room looked like before we arrived. Notice the candy jars on the left and the huge spools of ribbon to the right. AMAZING!

After cookies, it was onto Elf School. At elf school, the kids learned how to behave like good girls and boys so they could stay off the naughty list.
Elf school was a good reminder for my kids.
After Elf school it was onto Santa's office to write a letter to Santa. As we wrote letters to Santa, we were invited in, one family at a time, to visit with Santa. You can see from the first picture what Santa's room looked like.
After we met with Santa and told him what we all wanted, we went outside and sat by the bon fire in the freezing snow. This is where we waited for the others to come out and get back on the bus.

Since there were so many of us, Santa walked the last of the group out to the bus to say good-bye. So fun! We got back on the bus and went back through the North Pole Portal and arrived back in Greer at Molly Butlers.
Mrs. Claus met us there and read a story to the kids and let them color. She was awesome too. This really was one of the most wonderful, memorable things we have done. My kids will never forget this experience. So grateful for this fun weekend!
